For the recognition of the Greek nationality all marriage and birth certificates proving the sequence of Greek origin (from the ancestor registered in Greece until the person applying for Greek citizenship) should be registered with the Athens Special Registry. Then, an application requesting the recognition of Greek nationality should be forwarded to the competent Municipality along with the certificates issued from the Athens Special Registry.
